BUY OR PASS

Al: From the ESRB website, a fantastic synopsis about the upcoming Dead Or Alive: Paradise title for PSP:

This is a collection of mini-games, based on the Dead or Alive game series, in which players assume the role of a bikini-clad female character on vacation on a tropical island. Players engage in daily activities that can include hopping across floating pads on a pool and beach volleyball. Players earn credits after each activity that can be used to purchase new outfits, accessories, and gifts to give other female characters on the island. Players can earn additional credits at the island casino as they wager credit in slot machines and in games of poker and black jack. Some purchasable outfits include string bikinis, one-piece thongs, and sling bikinis. Sling bikinis and thongs often provide very little coverage of breast and bare buttocks. Throughout the game players can view characters engaging in variety of activities—pole dancing, stretching, gyrating to music, and climbing trees. Characters are frequently displayed in compromising position (e.g., buttocks up in the air, legs splayed open, straddling tree trunks, etc.) during these activities. These scenes can often feel voyeuristic as players control the camera to rotate, pan, and zoom in on various body parts as they photograph the characters in different poses.

Verdict: Buy. Kokoro! Lei Fang! Ayane! Here I c…oh. No. Close one.

An interesting tidbit…

Al: The trio of Bill Wennington, Luc Longley, and Will Perdue was once known as the “Bang Gang”. Let that one simmer.

Oscar De La Hoya Is A Biggity Bitch.

Posted in Sports by jobbercartel on December 28, 2009

Al: First De La Hoya says this, after his fight with Manny Pacquiao:

Truthfully, he didn’t hit hard. He didn’t really hurt me. But the punches were so fast and they were coming from everywhere, it felt like there were 10 of him, seriously.

And then he makes this gem of a statement during the “Bloodgate” fiasco between Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Now I have to wonder about him. I’m saying to myself, ‘Wow. Those Mosley punches, those Vargas punches and those Pacquiao punches all felt the same.’ I’m not saying yes or no (about whether Pacquiao might be taking performance enhancing drugs); I’m just saying that now people have to wonder: Why doesn’t he want to do this? Why is it such a big deal?

I mean, brother Manny did make him quit on his stool while rearranging his face in the process.

I know Oscar and the folks at Golden Boy Promotions are trying to build a storyline & promote the fight (which is working wonderfully by the way), but at least be consistent.

Long: It’s a trite point to make, but when people think of Asian men, masculinity isn’t something that comes to mind. Guys of other ethnicities don’t fear Asian guys (except if you look like Bolo Yeung) . Face it, we’re just not symbols of intimidation.  No Chuck Norris, no Marlboro Man, no Charles Bronson, or Clint Eastwood. We don’t have guys on the side of Abercrombie and Fitch bags, much less folding jeans in the backroom. The high point was Bruce Lee in the 70s and 80s (he even married a white woman in 1964, unheard of), but it’s been a steep drop-off after him. With 2010 looming, are things any different than what they use to be? (more…)

ERBODY DANCE-U!

Al: I’m not going to front like I am the best dancer in the world, but I can’t help but feel that I’m Usher fuckin’ Raymond if I go to a non-Filipino party that has dancing involved. If there are Filipino people there dancing, best believe I am going to lean against the wall with a Sprite. We are silently judging your bounce, and I don’t need that shit from my fellow people.

Dancing Threats By Ethnicity:

1) Filipino
2) African-Americans

Onions, onions, onions, onions…

Long: Possibly one of the greatest city culture anthems I’ve heard in the last ten years, we might as all well live in Chicago with “Dennehy”. I love the city hype song, especially when it comes with as much humility and love as this. This is not the alternate (and unrecognizable) gangster universe that “California Love” was nor is this the empty braggadocio posturing that was Lord Tariq and Peter Gunz in “Uptown.”

I’ve never been able to Chicago, yet I can’t shake the feeling that I’ve grown up there somehow. Blame it on the nostalgic samples, “I have an Uncle like this” vibe, and name drops that only people well versed in Chicago lore would get. It’s the equivalent of an entire episode of No Reservations smashed into Family Matters condensed into 4 minutes.
